Description: The pentachlorophenol (PCP)-degrading bacterium.It is able to act as a bioremediation agent without the accumulation of inhibitory toxic compounds.Pseudomonas mendocina is a Gram negative, polar monotrichous flagellated, aerobic, rod shaped bacterium first discovered in 1969 by investigators working to characterize the species Pseudomonas stutzeri.
