Description: Gram-negative rods that are 0.4 to 0.8 by 1.0 to 3.0 μm and motile by means of one to four polar flagella. Rather slow growing. Colonies are white or cream, smooth, flat, and glistening with entire or erose margins on YBGA. Produces a hypersensitive reaction on tobacco leaves. Metabolism is respiratory.
