PSEUDOXANTHOMONAS BROEGBERNENSIS
| Class: | Gamma Proteobacteria |
| Genus: | Pseudoxanthomonas |
| Species: | Pseudoxanthomonas broegbernensis |
| Description: | Members of the genus are non-spore-forming rods, usually 0.4–0.8x0.9–1.5μm, which stain Gram-negative. They have a strictly respiratory type of metabolism with O2 as preferential terminal electron acceptor and can reducenitrite but not nitrate. N2O is always a main productof nitrite reduction if not the only one. Colonies on solid media are generally yellow to pale yellow or beige.Exhibits all of the characteristics of the mesophilic members of the genus. |
