PSYCHROMONAS ARCTICA
| Class: | Gamma Proteobacteria |
| Genus: | Psychromonas |
| Species: | Psychromonas arctica |
| Description: | Cells are 0.7–1.7μm wide and 1.3–2.6μm long. In old cultures, cells become more pleomorphic, with non-motile coccoid cells that are 1.3–1.7mm in diameter. The pH optimum for growth is 8.5–8.8. Growth occurs in the presence of 1–7 % NaCl (w/v) with an optimum at 2 % NaCl. |
