| Description: | A purple sulfur bacterium.Single cells were large rods, 10–20 times longer than wide, and predominantly strainght with slightly conical ends. Cells were motile by polarly inserted flagellar tufts. Intracellular photosynthetic membranes were of the vesicular-type. |
