| Description: | Colonies are circular, smooth, convex, non-pigmented and entire. They are transparent, becoming slightly opaque with ongoing incubation ( >2 weeks, 25°C, on half-strength marine agar). Cells are Gram-negative rods (width 0.6–1.2μm, length 0.9–2.4μm) and oxidase- and catalase-positive. Able to reduce nitrate to nitrite. |
