Description: Cells are Gram-negative, aerobic, non-spore-forming, rod- shaped, motile by means of a single polar flagellum and chemo-heterotrophic. After 48 h incubation on R2A agar at 25°C, the mean cell size is approximately 0.3–0.8°m in diameter and 0.9–1.8μm in length. Colonies are raised, round and smooth with entire edges.

Source: The type strain isolated from a freshwater culture pond in the vicinity of Taitung city, Eastern Taiwan, used for culturing tilapiine cichlid fish ( Tilapia rendalli).
