| Class: | Gamma Proteobacteria |
| Genus: | Rhizobacter |
| Species: | Rhizobacter dauci |
| Description: | Straight to slightly curved, gram-negative, encapsulated rods with round ends, 0.9 to 1.3 by 2.1 to 2.5μm. Nonsporeforming. Usually a small number of cells in a population are motile with polar flagella or lateral flagella or both. Poly-P-hydroxy- butyrate granules are formed. Chemoorganotrophic. Pseu- dooligotrophic.
