Description: Serratia odorifera biogroup 2 is a species of gram-negative, nonsporeforming, peritrichous rods. It is distinguished from other biogroups by it doesn't response to fermentation of sucrose and raffinose, and by the absence of ornithine decarboxylase.

Source: It has been found in human clinical specimens and in food. Serratia odorifera biogroup 1 was isolated from the from the respiratory tract, spinal fluid and blood.
Pathogenicity: Some reports state that organism was more responsible for invasive human infection in compare of biogroup 1.
