Description: Cells are straight, Gram-negative, non-spore-forming,motile rods, approximately 2x1μm. Facultatively anaerobic. Colonies on TSA incubated at 37°C for 24 h are 2–3 mm in diameter, opaque, circular and yellow (strain 2249) or cream-coloured (strain 1383T). Colonies are pale yellow to yellow and glossy on TSA incubated at 25°C.Grows on MacConkey agar, producing pink–purple colonies with large halos.
