SUTTONELLA INDOLOGENES

Class: Gamma Proteobacteria
Genus: Suttonella
Species: Suttonella indologenes
Description: Straight rods that are 1.0 μm in diameter and 2 to 3 μm long and have rounded ends. Cells occasionally occur in pairs, rosette clusters, or chains. Gram negative, but there is a tendency to resist Gram decolorization. Nonmotile as determined by normal tests, but may be fimbriated (pileated)and exhibit twitching motility. Aerobic. Aerobic growth is enhanced by high humidity and CO₂, which makes the organ- isms appear to be facultatively anaerobic
