THALASSOLITUUS MARINUS

Class: Gamma Proteobacteria
Genus: Thalassolituus
Species: Thalassolituus marinus
Description: Gram-negative, chemoheterotrophic, oxidase- and catalase-positive, motile by a single polar flagellum, non pigmented and strictly aerobic. Cells are curved rods (0.4–0.5 x 1.2–2.5μm) that divide by binary fission. Colonies are 0.2–0.4 mm in diameter, circular, convex, opaque, smooth and beige-coloured after 7 days of incubation on 1/10 R2A at 25°C
