THIOALKALIVIBRIO JANNASCHII
| Class: | Gamma Proteobacteria |
| Genus: | Thioalkalivibrio |
| Species: | Thioalkalivibrio jannaschii |
| Description: | Cells are curved rods, 0.3-0.4 x 1-2μm, motile by a single polar flagellum. Cells often contain intracellular sulfur globes when grown with thiosulfate at low salinity. Produces yellow, membrane-associated pigment during growth at high salinity. |
