Description: Adjective neptunius of Neptune,the Roman god of the sea.Cells are 1μm wide and 2.3–3μm long.Forms translucent,convex,non-swarming, smooth-rounded colonies with entire margins, beige in colour and about 3 mm in diameter on TSA after 48 h incubation at 28°C; colonies are yellow,umbonate,round,entire,smooth, shiny and transparent and 2–3 mm in size on TCBS after 24 h at 28°C.
