VIBRIO PROTEOLYTICUS
| Class: | Gamma Proteobacteria |
| Genus: | Vibrio |
| Species: | Vibrio proteolyticus |
| Description: | Adjective proteolyticus pertaining protein-dissolving.Vibrio proteolyticus is a gram-negative facultative anaerobic rod which produces an extracellular thermostable aminopeptidase. In the experiment with mixed cultures, the colonies of V. Proteolyticus were also easily differentiated from V. Alginolyticus ,which produced round blue colonies without the swarmingthat this species usually shows in other rich media. |
