Description This species is known as Lonsdalea quercina .It was firstly reported in Oaks at California(U.S.A) in 1967 .After that it was found in forest oaks at Spain. It was gram negative, oxidase negative, facultatively anaerobic,urease negative and also negative for nitrate reduction.
Synonyms Lonsdalea quercina;Brenneria quercina.
Habitat/Source It was found near at Madrid and Segoviain in Spain and California in U.S.A .
Pathogenicity Brenneria quercina(Erwinia quercina)is the causal agent of "Drippy nut" disease of oaks in Quercus species(Quercus agrifolia and Quercus wislizenii) in the California (U.S.A). It is also responsible for "bleeding bark cankers and bacterial ooze on leaf buds" on Quercus pyrenaica and Quercus ilex in Spain.
