Description It is a gram-negative, non-motile,rod-shape bacteria. it is surrounded by a capsule, which increases its virulence by acting as a physical barrier to evade the host s immune response. It is closely related to K.oxytoca.
Synonyms Klebsiella aerogenes.
Habitat/Source Microbiota of human i.e mouth, skin, and intestines.
Pathogenicity It is a well known human pathogen .It can progress into severe infections causing pneumonia, bloodstream infections, wound infections, urinary tract and other infection.
