Description It was named to honor Friederike Heimbach.Providencia heimbachae was first described in 1986. It has been isolated from penguin feces and an aborted bovine fetus. There has been no reported isolation of this organism from human specimens. But now a report says that isolation of Providencia heimbachae from Human Feces who have idiopathic diarrhea.(CAROLINE MOHR O HARA et.al.1999)

Habitat/Source This organism mainly found in healthy penguins aborted bovine fetus.
Pathogenicity The medical and veterinary significance of these organisms is unknown.
